Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on minimums, timelines, quality control and how we work. If your question isn’t here, send us a brief and we’ll respond within 48 hours.
1. Working With Us
Q: How do I start a project with 1 World Apparel?
A: Send us your design, fabric preferences and estimated volume. We respond with a detailed quote within 48 hours. From there the process runs through 3D visualisation, sample development, production with quality checks, and delivery — with an account manager guiding each step.
Q: Who will I be dealing with day to day?
A: A dedicated account manager handles your communication, production oversight and logistics. Our operations are internationally managed, so you have a single point of contact across time zones rather than dealing directly with a factory floor.
Q: How quickly will I get a quote?
A: Within 48 hours of receiving your brief. Send your design, fabric preferences and volume estimate, and we’ll come back with detailed pricing.
Q: What does the full process look like from brief to delivery?
A: Five stages. Send your brief and receive a quote in 48 hours. Approve a 3D visualisation in 3 days. Receive your first physical sample in 14–21 days. Move into production with in-line checks, AQL inspection and a pre-shipment audit. Then delivery, packaged and labelled to your specification.
Q: Are you a factory or an agent?
A: 1 World Apparel Ltd. is a Bangladesh-based manufacturer, BGMEA membership #7189, with over 20 years in garment production. Our international team manages your programme end to end — design input, production oversight, quality control and supply chain.
Q: Do you work with new brands, or only established ones?
A: Both. Our infrastructure scales from 300-unit startup orders to 50,000-unit production runs. We work with emerging DTC labels, established retailers expanding their range, and entrepreneurs launching a first collection.
2.Minimum Order Quantities
Q: What is your minimum order quantity?
A: It varies by category. Tailored apparel starts at 300–500 units per style-colour combination. Equestrian apparel is 500 units per style-colour. Workwear and uniforms are 800 units per style-colour. Ask your account manager for the minimum on your specific category.
Q: Can my first order cover several styles?
A: Yes. For brands launching a new collection, we can structure a first order to cover multiple styles, with each style meeting its own minimum. This is a common approach for a debut range.
Q: What order volumes do you handle?
A: From 300 units up to 50,000-unit seasonal production runs. Our quote form covers bands from 300–500 units through to 20,000+, so we can scope accurately whatever stage your brand is at.
3. Samples & Development
Q: How long does sample development take?
A: 3D digital visualisation takes 3 business days. Your first physical proto sample follows in 14–21 days from an approved tech pack. Fit sample revisions take 10–14 days each, and the pre-production sample takes a further 10–14 days from fit approval.
Q: Is there a minimum quantity for samples?
A: No. We sample 1–3 pieces per style. There is no minimum order and no obligation to move into production afterwards.
Q: Do I need a tech pack before you can start?
A: No. We create full tech packs from your sketches, reference garments or a verbal brief, at no extra charge. If you already have a tech pack, we’ll work from yours.
Q: How many sample revisions do I get?
A: Unlimited revisions are included until you’re satisfied. We revise the sample until the fit, fabric and construction are right — that’s the stage where problems are cheapest to fix.
Q: What is 3D visualisation and why does it come first?
A: We render your garment digitally in your exact colours and fabrics within 3 business days, before any sample is cut. You approve design, fit and colourway on screen, which removes a round of physical sampling and shortens the whole timeline.
Q: What happens after I approve the sample?
A: We lock the production specifications and you can place your production order. There’s no obligation to produce with us after sampling, though most clients do.
Q: Do sample timelines differ by category?
A: Yes for the more technical ones. Denim samples take 21–28 days because wash development runs alongside construction. Tailored apparel samples also take 21–28 days, and we recommend 2–3 fitting rounds before production approval.
4. Production & Lead Times
Q: How long does production take?
A: Typically 60–90 days from approved sample. Denim runs 75–90 days because the wash process adds time, and tailored apparel is also 75–90 days given the additional construction stages.
Q: What's the realistic total timeline from first contact to delivery?
A: Allow roughly 48 hours for your quote, 3 days for 3D visualisation, 14–21 days for a first sample, time for any fit revisions at 10–14 days each, then 60–90 days production from approved sample. Your account manager will map exact dates against your launch.
Q: How are my goods packaged and delivered?
A: Professionally packaged and labelled to your specification, then shipped to your door or warehouse. Custom packaging is available including branded polybags, box packaging, tissue paper and retail-ready presentation.
5. Quality Control
Q: What is your quality control process?
A: Four stages. Fabrics, trims and materials are verified before cutting, with lab dip and strike-off approvals confirmed. An in-line inspection happens mid-production during sewing. A statistical AQL 2.5 inspection covers finished garments. A pre-shipment audit checks packed cartons before loading.
Q: What is AQL inspection and do you use it?
A: AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) is an internationally recognised statistical sampling standard for final product inspection. We apply the AQL 2.5 standard on all production orders.
Q: Will I receive a quality report for my order?
A: Yes. Every production order gets a written AQL inspection report covering defect classification — critical, major and minor — with a pass/fail determination and photo documentation where applicable.
Q: Why does in-line inspection matter?
A: It catches construction issues mid-production, before they multiply across the full order. Finding a seam problem on unit 200 is a correction. Finding it at final inspection on unit 5,000 is a reject.
Q: Can I visit the factory or arrange an audit?
A: Yes. Our facilities are open to customer-arranged audits at any time. We welcome factory visits and can arrange virtual tours if travel isn’t practical.
6. Capabilities
Q: Which product categories do you manufacture?
A: Dresses, tailored apparel, equestrian apparel, denim and jeans, workwear and uniforms, activewear and sportswear, hoodies and fleece, and full private label programmes. We also offer standalone sample development across all of these.
Q: What branding and customisation can you apply?
A: Embroidery, woven labels, printed care labels, heat transfer, screen print and sublimation. We also produce custom hangtags, branded polybags and box packaging, so every brand touchpoint is covered.
Q: What size ranges do you produce?
A: It depends on category. Equestrian apparel runs XS–3XL in standard EU, UK and US sizing. Workwear runs XS–5XL with fitted and unisex cuts. Denim runs W24–W40. Custom size ranges are available across categories.
Q: Can you help with fabric sourcing?
A: Yes. We have an established supplier network across Bangladesh and beyond, and handle custom fabric sourcing, lab dips, strike-offs and wash development. Sustainable alternatives including recycled polyester and organic cotton denim are available.
Q: What denim washes and weights can you produce?
A: Weights from 4.5oz through to 14oz. Washes include raw/dry, stonewash, acid wash, enzyme wash, garment dye and overdye, vintage and tie-dye. Distressing options cover manual sanding, whiskers, laser distressing, and rips and repairs.
Q: How durable is your workwear?
A: Durable workwear styles are tested for 50 or more industrial wash cycles. We work with 65/35 poly-cotton, heavy canvas, ripstop, stretch twill and moisture-wicking blends, with reflective tape, reinforced construction and ID badge loops available.
Q: What hoodie weights do you offer?
A: From lightweight summer weights through to premium 480gsm heavyweight pieces. Options include pullover and zip-up styles with YKK zippers, crewnecks, oversized and boxy streetwear fits, quarter-zip fleece, and sherpa-lined constructions.
Q: Can you produce technical performance fabrics?
A: Yes. We work with 4-way stretch, compression fabrics, silicone grip panels, moisture-wicking linings, UV-protective and UPF fabrics, thermal and merino blends, and technical fleece.
7. Compliance & Protecting Your Designs
Q: What certifications and audit programmes cover your production?
A: We are BSCI and Sedex audited, a Fair Wear Foundation member, a signatory to the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, and hold BGMEA membership #7189.
Q: How are my designs protected?
A: We operate under a non-disclosure agreement covering all client designs. Your tech packs and branding are never shared with other clients.
Q: Can you produce for a brand already manufacturing elsewhere?
A: Yes. Many clients come to us with an existing supplier and start with a sample or a single style to compare quality and service before moving volume across. Sampling carries no production commitment.
